I'm sooo addicted to my Baby Peycie and didn't have a chance to blog. Being a first time mom is not easy. I thank my mom and mother-in-law in assisting me and teaching me on how to take care of a newborn child. :) I enjoy being a hands-on mom, to the point that I don't wanna go back to work! I personally give her a bath, feed her (I failed in breastfeeding, I breastfed her only for 2 weeks and after that she doesn't want to latch anymore *sad*, I tried to pump however I can only produce less than 2 oz, which did not satisfy her every feed).
The day comes that I have to get back to work. This is really a big adjustment. Peycie started to change her sleeping time on her way to 2nd month. "Seriously anak, kung kailan na papasok si mommy?" She usually sleep between 4:00a.m. to 6:00a.m. and we need to leave the house by 6:30a.m.
Our daily routine (when I got back to work)
7:00 a.m. - Leave the house
8:30a.m. to 5:30 p.m. - Office
8:00 p.m. - Arrive home
10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. - Hubby will take care of Peycie, while I will sleep for my 1:00 a.m. shift. *LOL*
1:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. - Hele and crying time for baby.
4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. - Her sleeping time
6:00 a.m. - Wash and sterilize her bottles, fix ourselves for work
Recently, my dad-in-law wakes up at 3:30 a.m. and if Peycie is still up, he will voluntarily get her from me so I can still sleep. I can't thank him enough for sacrificing his sleep!
I admit, I miss our lifestyle back then when we were only two, but I couldn't be more happier seeing and having our cute little baby with us! Yes, it is kinda tiring and exhausting but these are worth it! ☺

Labor and Birth Story
I never thought that I'll blog about my labor and birth story as early as this. If you follow my blog you probably read that I am due to give birth to our little angel on 29th of November.
However, Peyton was in a rush to come out and our bundle of joy is now with us. The feeling of being mother is such a fulfillment. Today, I'll share my labor story.
November 11, 2014
2:30 am - Being pregnant, I usually pee during this hour. This one is different, my undies was wet and never in my pregnancy I peed in my undies. I changed it and got back to sleep. The moment I laid my back, I felt uncomfortable because there was something wrong. I continuously got wet. I get up and put a sanitary napkin. I told myself that if this didn't stop and my napkin got full, I am already leaking.
4:00 am - From the time I put a sanitary napkin, I felt uneasy and thinking that I might be leaking because it really didn't stop. I get up from bed, turned on the light and there was it, my water leaked (even I'm wearing a napkin) with blood. I woke up my husband and told him that we need to go to the hospital and I'm giving birth within the day. We prepared ourselves, and good thing that I was completely done packing our things a night before! Woman's instinct.😄
5:30am -We arrived at the UST Hospital and headed to the delivery room and it was confirmed that my bag of water already broke. They checked if I'm in labor but I am 1cm dilated only. By hook or by crook, I need to give birth within the day via NSD or CS.
8:00 am - Labor is not progressing and they decided to induce.
10:00 am -This is when I started to feel the labor pain. As they say, induced labor is more painful than natural labor. I was still between 2-3cm but mind you it was already painful. I even asked the intern who was watching my labor progress if I could walk or change my position but he refused! I don't have a choice but to bear the pain and nobody can help but myself!!!!
3:00 pm - I was on 4-5cm and asked already for epidural. By the way, the resident OB said that my contractions were moderate only. I was like "Wth, are you sure that this was not strong contractions?" It was more painful because, it was my baby's head who was pushing my cervix to open unlike the natural labor that there's the water bag to push it.
4:00 pm - Anesthesiologist arrived and they sent me to delivery room to do the procedure. By the way, my OB was still in convention by that time. The residents only update her. I find a hard time to bend my back for the epidural because of my big tummy plus the contractions. Anesthesia already administered yet I can still feel pain in my lower right abdomen . They IE'd again and I was 6-7 dilated. While waiting for me to fully dilate, I was praying to have a safe delivery and have a healthy baby. I don't know what was going to happen and just seek for His guidance.
5:00 pm - I am ready to give birth and still feeling the pain in my lower right abdomen. They checked and they can almost see my baby's head! OB hasn't arrived yet and they have to sedate me for a while while OB was not arriving yet.
5:33 pm - Baby was out after 3 long push! Our gift from ABOVE finally arrived, Welcome our dear PEYTON FLEUR DARICE!

Her heart rate at 160 above
We were scheduled for check-up yesterday with our Endocrinologist and OB-Gyne. Endo checked my thyroid levels, FBS and CBC as well as my Urinalysis and she was happy with the result. She was still reminding me to watch over my diet as the baby may got bigger on the later part of pregnancy. She will be out of the country on the 19th of November to end of the month and it only means that she will not be around 'til my due date. Yesterday was my last check-up with her and will only wait for the delivery. ☺
With my OB, she checked baby's heart rate using the Doppler. Usually, she will only check it for a minute or less, but yesterday was different. She checked it longer because based on her, Peyton's heart beats more than 160 per minute. Normal heart rate for baby is 110-160. Contrary to what she said earlier that we will have the ultrasound on my 38th week, she gave me a request for BPS to double check if our lil boo's heart rate won't change and if my AF is still normal.
After having my ultrasound, her heart was beating 153 which is pretty normal and my AF is still at 12. We returned to our OB's clinic and show her the result. She gave me the admitting order already in case I'll give birth anytime. The funny thing is, actually not so funny (LOL), I cannot remember where did I put the admitting order. Oh memory!

Breastfeeding
We are 36 weeks & 3 days and our little boo will come out soon! As a mother, I want the best for my baby. I strongly believe that I can produce milk and I can feed our Baby Peyton. I even asked my OB to prescribe me a malunggay supplement, however, she did not allow me to take one unless I am already breastfeeding. Obedient I am, I just followed what she said because she knows better. As per her explanation, the supply of breast milk depends on the demand of the baby (insert Economics subject here, LOL). If baby will continuously latch, it will indicate the body that it has to produce more milk. I can eat food with malunggay, but "no no" for the supplement for a while.
If I'll be lucky, I want to breastfeed her up to 6 months. Planning of breastfeeding in a long run will require me to invest a good electric breast pump, but for now I will be using my manual breast pump given by my loving sister. :)

Trying to make a so called "Maternity Shoot"
While waiting for my girls last Saturday, Ward and I decided to roam around the Manila Ocean Park. We had to experience the fish spa wherein I never realized that it was very ticklish. I remember my husband who can't stop laughing while the fishes doing their job on his feet and everyone was looking at him! Haha
On the topic above, after we had the fish spa, I noticed the sunset behind the glass wall. Then an idea came up to take a silhouette photo of me and my little beanie. ☺ Thanks to Daddy Waward for a perfect shot!

Peyton's Baby Shower
I am so excited to blog about Peyton's baby shower last Saturday organized by my girlfriends! :) Who would have thought that these ladies would make an effort to pull this off? ☺
My best friend Rhea who is working in HotelH2O sponsored the venue. Not to mention, we appreciate our Aqua Supreme room with its aquarium of course, because it is really relaxing. Added to that is the bed which is very comfy! Thank you to my generous "bru" though kinda sad because she wasn't able to join us due to her work but then, super thanks! ☺
While Anna, who we considered as the "punong abala" in preparing this shower took the creativity out of herself and believe me, my mom is sending her kudos for the wonderful decorations! We (yes, I was somehow included in the planning) decided to bring our own pica-pica to share.
Our baby Peyton is very lucky to have her titas around who love her so dearly. She's very thankful as I am for having my berries! Sharing the photos taken last Saturday. :)

Update on baby's stuff
We're almost done buying the basic necessities for our little one. Thank you to her very sweet and generous lolo and lola for buying her crib, stroller and car seat. We didn't expect them to buy these things for her but thanks a bunch mom and dad! We're gonna miss you by the way, enjoy your NZ trip! :)
I must admit that my sister-in-law and I enjoyed buying pink clothes for Baby Eggnog. Those cute little onesies are to die for. LOL
Last week, I decided to wash (by hand) our LO's clothes. I never thought that they are a lot! I even asked for my dear hub's help because I can't sit longer in a squat position (I'm on my 8th month already).

As November getting nearer, I'm getting more excited to see our baby. She's pretty malikot inside me and behave when she hears her dad's voice. 4 more weeks to go baby! We can do this! ☺
